Therapists

 

Therapists at CBH perform a full range of clinical social work services in support of the patient's primary therapist/treatment team. Some of these tasks include:

  • Interviews patients and families to assess psychosocial problems,

  • Developing treatment plans,

  • Monitoring and Evaluating patient progress

  • Conducting individual, family, and group therapy sessions for patients and their families

  • Participating as a member of a treatment team or, if working on a residential program or an outpatient clinic, as a primary therapist.
     

Psychiatric Rehabilitation Worker

 

CBH is seeking qualified individuals for the position of Psychiatric Rehabilitation Program (PRP) Counselor.
This para-professional, mental health worker (contractual position) supports children currently receiving therapy by providing on-site and off-site life skills and social development interventions.​

 

Interested candidates should have a Bachelor's degree in a health-related field.

Internships

Community Behavioral Health offers a variety of internships in both our Outpatient Mental Health Program as well as our Substance Abuse Program. We have partnered with various educational institutions to facilitate rotations for their students. We currently have a PA program, a mental health rotation for psychiatric residents, and PA students, a clinical healthcare rotation for students interested in the social work field, and general internships for individuals who are interested in mental health generally.

We have also open our internships for those looking for non-clinical roles i.e. Human Resources, Bookkeeping, Accounting, Medical Receptionists, Medical Billing, Business and Facilities Management. 

Clinical Healthcare Rotation

The Clinical Healthcare Rotation accepts undergraduate, 1st and 2nd year graduate level licensed individuals as well as those who are candidates for licensure but have not taken the test. Community Behavioral Health provides clinical rotation and supervision, support, and training to those enrolled in the rotation. Students with social work, rehabilitation, and counceling students are encouraged. Many of our students have gone on to sucessfully obtain licensure after completing rotation.

Physician Assistant Clinical Clerkship

Physician assistants are a vital part of health care teams and the medical community. They are the front line in providing primary care to patients in both hospitals and private practices, under the supervision of licensed physicians. 

 

Community Behavioral Health has partnered with Towson University, University of Maryland Eastern Shore, and Anne Arundel Community College to serve as a clerkship site for their psychiatry rotation. Students will be instructed in various skills including common diagnostic procedures used in psychiatry, creating appropriate medical records, as well as common medications in a mental health setting. Students will be exposed to a dynamic, fast paced mental health environment, and will ultimately gain the knowledge necessary to handle routine patient care activities in psychiatry.

Physician Resident Clinical Rotation Site

We are an approved outpatient psychiatric clincal rotation site for 3rd
and 4th year residents from John Hopkins University, George Washington University, University of Maryland, and Toro Medical School.

National Health Service Corps Loan Repayment Program

 

The National Health Service Corps (NHSC) Loan Repayment Program (LRP) offers mental and behavioral health care providers the opportunity to have their student loans repaid, while earning a competitive salary, in exchange for providing health care in urban, rural, or frontier communities with limited access to care.

 

Community Behavioral Health is an NHSC-approved service site in a Health Professional Shortage Area (HPSA) and all of the sites are above 14, with the exception of Centreville which is a 12.
